Senior Research Associate
Alokta was drawn to questions about social aspects of the “high modernist” development narrative while working and travelling in various places in India during his nine years of work on large-scale transmission line projects. This led him to make a career change and pursue a master’s in Environment and Development from Ambedkar University, Delhi. He tries to incorporate the knowledge he gained from his master’s and previous experience into his role as a researcher at CEEP, working at the intersection of Justice, Energy Transition, and Society.
In his free time, Alokta likes to read, listen to classical music, have heated political discussions with people around him, and occasionally provoke himself with film-maker Ritwik Ghatak’s words, “Think! practice thinking” from the movie Reason, Debate and a Story.
